How it works

What's special about TCP? — It does a 3-way handshake before data is sent. Delivery is acknowledged by receiver. Packets missing within a certain time window are re-requested. Packets are put in order on receipt. Congestion control: can delay delivery until network is uncongested. IPv4 and IPv6: error detection, checksum mandatory.
