It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

When a child can be brought to tears, and not from fear of punishment, but from repentance he needs no chastisement. When the tears begin to flow from the grief of their conduct you can be sure there is an angel nestling in their heart.

Put a bridle on thy tongue; set a guard before thy lips, lest the words of thine own mouth destroy thy peace... on much speaking cometh repentance, but in silence is safety.

According to Islamic principles, when a man is accused of heresy, he is given the choice between repentance and punishment.

I was being called to surrender the very citadel of my self. I was completely in the dark. I did not really know what repentance was or what I was required to repent of. It was indeed the turning point of my life.

To sin offers repentance and forgiveness; not to sin offers only punishment.

Of all acts of man repentance is the most divine. The greatest of all faults is to be conscious of none.

Repentance is accepted remorse.

There is no original sin. You don't have to pay repentance to anything or anybody.

God be praised for his gracious long suffering towards me in sparing my life so long. Grant, gracious God, that I may make a good use of the time that thou mayest be pleased yet to grant me for repentance.

The pattern of the prodigal is: rebellion, ruin, repentance, reconciliation, restoration.
