The feminist philosopher Susan Bordo deplores Western media’s obsession with female thinness and dieting. পুরোপুরি দ্বিমত হওয়ার চেয়ে কিছু বিষয়ে একমত হয়ে মূল জায়গায় দ্বিমত করলে নিরপেক্ষ পাঠককে রাজি করানো সহজ হয়।

অন্যের মত নিয়ে মজা করলে ভিন্নমতিদের সমর্থন পাওয়া যাবে না।

ভিন্নমত দিচ্ছি বলে সবকিছুর সঙ্গে দ্বিমত করা লাগবে বিষয়টা এমন না। বরং মিশ্র অনুভূতি সেরা উপায়।

লিখতে গেলে দুটো জিনিস মাথায় রাখতে হবে: কার কী? কারা আমার দাবির সাথে একাত্ম হবে তাদের শনাক্ত করা তাতে কী? সে দাবি মানলে তাদের কী লাভ
